Description:

We are seeking up to 3-4 research assistants to work on a pollinator project two days a week to track bee pollinators in Southern Utah.

Responsibilities:

  • Recording presence of bumblebees in the Southern Rockies.
  • Assisting with trapping and following honey bees.
  • Nest-searching and monitoring.
  • Familiarity with basic GIS technology.

Qualifications:

  • Some experience in insect and plant collection and identification.
  • Preference will be given to students who have taken BIOL 3435 (Entomology).
  • Preference will be given to applicants with experience in ecological field methods.

  • The start date is May 19, 2026, and assistants will be required to work up to 12 hours per week.

Note: This position will entail working outdoors in all kinds of weather, walking variable distances, and driving on backcountry roads (transportation will be provided).
